Bath

Today was a shorter day (from a touristing perspective), so that was nice. I spent the night hacking and coughing, and woke up to discover I had a very quiet and squeaky voice. This made for some inevitable jokes and misunderstandings throughout the day. Nonetheless, Bath was beautiful, although very busy on a Saturday.

Although the Roman baths were far too expensive to see, it was a beautiful day with sights to see and shops to browse. After that we toured Bristol briefly before stopping for a cup of tea with a friend in nearby Gloucester (pronounced gloss-tur) on our way back to Miark’s sister’s house. We had a lovely dinner followed by games, which, between coughing fits, turned out to be one of the most memorable evenings of our trip. Our plans to stay with someone else tomorrow night seem to have fallen through, so we’ll be staying here one more night after Stonehenge tomorrow.
