Meet Tau.

Tau enjoys nuzzling noses, holding hands (yes, he actually wraps his paw around my finger sometimes), and bounding up the stairs with ferocious speed. He doesn’t understand vegetables (often waiting for them to move or DO something), loves talking, and hates alarm clocks.

Tau is a South African word for “lion,” a tribute to his wild (though, to be fair, not actually African) heritage, and his “big cat” looking paws . At this point, I have no shame in telling you that I am completely in love with him. He is sweet and adorable and cuddly as all else. I love the way he attacks my pencil when I’m trying to do homework, and the way when he talks to me when I get home from school. I love the way he likes to sleep with his head resting on my neck.
Like any parent, I believe that I would have loved Tau no matter what he turned out like. And yet, if I could design the ideal pet, I am convinced he would not be as much of a perfect blessing as Tau has turned out to be.

Thanks to Thad for taking these beautiful pictures.
