Things That Will Be Hard to Leave Behind

There are certain British things that I have realized I am going to have a very hard time giving up. While America is a big enough place you can find (or mail order) things like Marmite, when I get back to America there are things that I have discovered I love that will not be readily available. Here are just a few of the things that come to mind:

Foods:
-Marmite (obviously)
-Ribena (a non-carbonated fruit-flavored drink)
-Kinder Eggs
-Ginger Beer (strong but nice – and not alcoholic)
-Tesco orange juice
-Sunday Pub Lunch (roast, potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding)
-Dime bars (a supposedly American candy bar that is really made in Sweden which is chocolate-covered toffee and almonds)

Television and radio shows:
-Top Gear (my favorite car show)
-Old Harry’s Game (a comedy show about Satan and his demons, this season they are trying to get people to be good because Hell has become too overpopulated. Really funny but hard to describe.)

  1. Hope,How do they do their roast? I assume it's beef. Is it juicier than mine? Higher quality meat than mine? I don't remember you liking any kind of roast that much, so I'm curious. Maybe you can ask a cook or chef how it's done so I can learn something new?

  2. That reminds me, bring me back some extra marmite. :)That's funny you have so many drinks. Japan had an orange soda drink that I really liked and still miss.
