Today was driving, driving, driving onto a boat, sitting on a boat, driving off the boat, and driving to our hospitality for the night, a unicyclist, Rocket, who derives his nickname from the fact that he actually is a Rocket Scientist.
The driving was pretty uneventful. Driving onto the ferry we had to go through British customs which for me (as an American) was the same scrutinizing and oh-so-many questions. But, as usual, after being peered at, prodded, and patronized, the customs lady obliged and let me into the country. At least I got a stamp on my passport to show for it.
UPDATE:
This was the last blog I wrote on my trip. The few days before I went back home and the flights home itself were so unbelievably uneventful that they were scarce worth mentioning. I have since settled into my new roles at work, and have been attempting to settle back into life as well. While I had tons of fun on my Europe trip, I definitely felt like a tourist. I saw some amazing things and had a lot of fun, but ultimately, I was very ready to come back home.
And I am glad to be back.
Thanks so much for doing this blog, Hope. I have really enjoyed your writings and your photos. And we met Rocket in Japan! How cool that you stayed with him….Mom
